Well, instead of Ragging on Raj, which is what I wanted to do, it seems most of my readers want to talk about this. Evidently, they have minds of their own, those readers of mine.
The bastards.
Well, as much as I'd love to jump right in there and regale you all with accounting theory, governmental GAAP and overall we're-on-the-fast-track-to-Hell-now-that-Obama's-in-charge fearmongering, I just can't do it. Neither the energy nor the enthusiasm is there.
Corsi's article is the financial equivalent of one of those global warming scare articles... You know, the sort that proclaims if we don't all go vegetarian, install pee-recycling toilets, forego having rug rats and stop the cows from farting methane, Gaia will be a 1,000 degrees in the shade wasteland by next Wednesday.
In both cases my response an appropriately apathetic Yeah, whatever...
If you're the sort that enjoy wringing your hands over the state of the national debt, by all means indulge. Who am I to deny you the pleasure of being neurotic? In the meantime, I'll concentrate on that which I find to be meaningful...
Social Security and Medicare are political obligations, not financial obligations. When there isn't any money to pay for them the working taxpayers will tell the old farts to go off and die.

You actually bought a copy of that book ? I mean, like, for real money ? What, there's a TP shortage in Westerville or something ?
Good grief.

Of course I bought a copy. I would have stolen it, but it seems the only company selling the goddamn thing is Amazon. Whatcha gonna do, eh?
Anyway, I am in the process of fact-checking the chapter on Pajamas Media...
He he!

Geez Dennis people stopped being neurotic years ago. They no longer have complexes either. I believe the proper medical term is they "have issues".
While I prefer you write about Da Raj on the blog I really want you to take a look at the tinyurl I sent you yesterday.

You and I agree about the uselessness of the article, but for different reasons. I stopped reading when I saw it was written by a well-known liar.

Mark-
I'll look it over tomorrow. Today was "Shopping for Muffy's 50th birthday jewelry present" day. One financial crisis at a time, please.

Mark me down as in favor of Raggin' on Raj, and not so enthused for more commentary about this financial Bird Flu we're all about to die from.

Wow, I take a few weeks off for real life (tm) and Pajamas finally rots off the vine, huh? Wow, that took a while and it was almost anticlimactically sudden when it did.
Nice to see Roger's already moved on to the next fad (I haven't seen PajamasTV, but I kinda doubt it's what people are wanting to stream in HD. I'll have to ask one of our Engineers tomorrow).
Nice in a 'I'm a bad person' way to see the Chosen Blogs finally get the treatment us 'not worth the investment' guys got an age ago. Feel pretty bad for anyone who thought they were really living the dream and just got cut off, probably with no warning, though.
