Could we get a recitation of the other 1461 reasons? Take your time, there's no rush here.

They just keep on giving don't they? Jesus, Craig is still in the Senate isn't he.

Oh, you'd like that, wouldn't you, Mark?

Sure beats reading you hammering bloggers nobody reads Dennis. Speaking of which Pammy got a mention in the NY Times the other day. It wasn't a compliment though.

Doesn't leave you many places to go...

Oh, well, there's always the Libertarians. Mosta them is too stoned to get it up...

I was waiting for someone to say it's Bill Clinton's fault.

Dennis,it was with a woman,a live woman!

"I was waiting for someone to say it's Bill Clinton's fault."

Well it did start at the top,or rather the bottom.

Mark-

I go where my muse takes me.

Of course, my muse may well be an asshole...

Funny you should say that Dennis, that's where Bill Clinton's muse took him.

Sanford-Ensign '12, eh?

I really don't care about the stories *except* to note the Sanford story must be the worst managed or spun I can recall at least since Jim McGreevey had his then-wife stand next to him when he disclosed his affair with Golan Cipel. Have I missed a worse one? Regardless, watching the Sanford story unfold has had all the fascination of watching a train wreck.

Aside to mark: you working the fest this weekend?

Yep, come on by Cliff and get your pic taken with our life size cut out of Obama and take our American gov, history and rights quiz. With three levels of difficulty even Petey or Richard could win a piece of candy. We're also gonna have our health care petition to sign. On Main just south of Caribou Coffee, same place as last year.

I say from now on all wives ought to stay away from these confessions. There's no reason they should have to put with that humiliation and any guy who asks them to stand there looking pitiable is a bigger asshole than Dennis and me put together.

Think back to Diaper Dave Vitter's wife standing there after she all but said she'd cut his dick off if she ever caught him cheating.

To paraphrase,"Those who can do,those who can't go into politics".

See you there, Mark.

Well played, Peter.

Last question: is power an aphrodisiac or an intoxicant?

Both, obviously.

Yeah, I guess so, Eric, especially for those who imbibe directly, though it still amazes me to see its effects in their "enablers." No, it probably shouldn't.

"Last question: is power an aphrodisiac or an intoxicant?"

It could be an alternative.

I was speaking to a friend yesterday about the rash of Goopers caught up in sex scandals over the last three years and how that doesn't jibe with studies I've seen that say electoral and legislative victories usually raise testosterone levels in the winners and lowers it in the losers.

Josh Marshall has a post up now saying much the same thing though from a more social point of view than biological. As the Republican party has imploded since 2006 it seems a lot of them have played just as fast and loose with their personal lives as they have with their professional. I guess if you're stuck misrepresenting CBO reports, lying about the positions of the opposition, and in general being a dishonest asshole it gets to the point where you don't care about anything anymore including your happy home or future prospects as a politician.

"I was to a friend yesterday". A giant rabbit called Harvey?

If you copy and paste Petey your stupid jokes are at least comprehensible.

You knew it was you,you knew it was a taking the piss, who needs more words?

Heh? Christ you're that drunk already?

I think Rush Limbaugh See it the same way Marshall and I do, which has to be a first. From his radio show today:

"This is almost like, 'I don't give a damn, the country's going to Hell in a handbasket, I just want out of here,'" said Limbaugh. "He had just tried to fight the stimulus money coming to South Carolina. He didn't want any part of it. He lost the battle. He said, 'What the Hell. I mean, I'm -- the federal government's taking over -- what the Hell, I want to enjoy life.'"

"The point is," he added, "there are a lot of people whose spirit is just -- they're fed up, saying to Hell with it, I don't even want to fight this anymore, I just want to get away from it."

I wonder what Limbaugh's excuse was for getting busted at the airport in April 2006 with viagra he didn't have a prescription for - which is a violation of his terms of release - coming back from the Dominican, a nation known for underage prostitution.

I guess Rush was ahead of his time. He knew the rank hypocrisy of the party that champions personal moral virtue, but doesn't practice it, would protect him I guess.

"I can keep my cock in my pocket."

Braggart!!!

Oh and the "fair and balanced" Fox News is sorry it identified Mark Sanford as a Democrat yesterday.

"Fox News is sorry it identified Mark Sanford as a Democrat yesterday."

Who did they think he was Barney Frank?

And from Da Raj who evidently has been drinking stupid cocktails with Petey:

Nevertheless, Mark Sanford’s out-of-control Father’s Day jaunt to Buenos Aires is particularly ill-timed, not just because of the obvious disrespect to his wife, children, friends, citizens of his state, political party, etc.

Reason: IRAN.

At this moment, the eyes of this country should be fixed on the horrific events coming from that company and the struggle for freedom against all odds by many of its brave citizens.

I can keep my cock in my pocket.

But can you keep it out of Argentina?

I bet you've swallowed a few cocktails Marky.

Power as an alternative to an intoxicant or an aprhorisiac? Good on you, Peter, I hadn't thought of that.

Good grief, Mark, did Da Raj really think *Iran* was going to be on the South Carolina governor's mind this past weekend? That's a rhetorical question, I guess, because I don't doubt your account. I guess it's just weird (at least to me) to see how Da Raj thinks. (Among other things, I'm guessing those who can't, um, compartamentalize their interests in this story from whatever interest they have in Iran really don't have much interest in Iran. Right? And that doesn't even get into the ultimate triviality of Sanford's indiscretions.)

I'll be kind Petey, I know how broken up you must be about Michael Jackson's death.

Not broken up Marky just saddened at the early death of any human being. He was younger than you. Still at least he had a life full of acheivement.

I was speaking to a friend yesterday about the rash of Democrat governors caught up in sex scandals over the last several years and how that doesn't jibe with studies I've seen that say electoral and legislative victories usually raise testosterone levels in the winners and lowers it in the losers.

Josh Marshall has a post up now saying much the same thing though from a more social point of view than biological. As the Democrat party lost the presidential elections in 2000 and 2004 it seems a lot of them have played just as fast and loose with their personal lives as they have with their professional. I guess if you're hiring whores, after making a career out of prosecuting others for hiring them or appointing your gay lover as the state homeland security advisor, despite your gay lover having absolutely no qualifications for the post, (as well as not even being a US citizen), lying about the positions of the opposition, and in general being a dishonest asshole it gets to the point where you don't care about anything anymore including your happy home or future prospects as a politician.

Eric if you'd like to compare the number of open zippers between the parties you lose. If you'd like to compare sanctimonious politicians who want to legislate personal morality you lose even bigger.

Still at least he had a life full of acheivement (sic). Which is more than can be said for you Petey. After all these years I'm still waiting to see your military credentials. Michael Jackson and his siblings were horribly abused as children by their father. It's no wonder he turned out so weird and died young.

Marky, if you'd like to compare the number of actual law breakers between the parties you lose. If you'd like to compare sanctimonious politicians who make promises to their supporters about removing legislation on personal morality but then doing nothing you lose even bigger.

How about you military credentials Marky?

" After all these years I'm still waiting to see your military credentials. "

Marky has great military credentials,he was the fastest runner of the Vietnam war.
Slicker than deer guts on a doorknob.

The wife of John Conyers (Democrat)pleads guilty to bribery. Sheesh, isn't John Conyers (D) Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee?

Yes. And Conyers convienently dropped his idea for an inquiry into ACORN's activities, blaming on 'the powers that be' whatever that means. Probably means that he was told to lay off or his wife gets the maximum. Now, she'll just get probation.

Hope and Change!

"the powers be",are the powers that be,instructions probably came down from the Reichsorganisator's office.

Washington Post.
More Bush:

"The Obama administration, fearing a battle with Congress that could stall plans to close the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, is drafting an executive order that would reassert presidential authority to incarcerate terrorism suspects indefinitely, according to three senior government officials with knowledge of White House deliberations.

"Such an order would embrace claims by former president George W. Bush that certain people can be detained without trial for long periods under the laws of war."

Hope and Same!

Yes Eric,But what is the betting that those incarcerated will be Republicans?

At Heritage Fest we have a life size cut out of Obama that people are standing in line to have their picture taken with. Whenever a Republican scoffs I tell them they'll want an 8.5 x 10 glossy of them standing with Obama on their wall when the UN black helicopters come to take them to the Detention Camp.

"At Heritage Fest we have a life size cut out of Obama that people are standing in line to have their picture taken with".

Maobama has descended to the "Cult of Personality " so soon.

It isn't surprising that Petey thinks when people volunteer to have their picture taken with a cut out of a popular president in his home state it's the same as the government mounting massive posters of him in public squares across the country. But then that's our Petey. Maybe if you try real hard you can find (make up) evidence of how over a billion in stimulus money is being spent on building statues of him.

You'd fit right in with the modern Republican party Pete. Did you hear the one about how the new energy bill is going cost each American family $3,100 a year? A MIT professor said it! Except he didn't. And Republicans just made it up.

Pity you couldn't get yourself a blow up doll of Obama Marky.
You are lucky with the Waxman - Markey bill,if you had had a job, this would have cost you it.
