CONCEALING THE TRUTH...
Well, you never can be sure with us Less-Than-Completely-Thrilled-With-Obama types, so the possibility does exist that I'm engaging in an incredibly elaborate and highly sophisticated cover-up of l'affaire Gates by not posting those tapes at Dennis the Peasant, thus leaving only the limited resources of such outlets as YouTube, CNN, Fox, CNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, Reuters and Pajamas Media to provide them as best they can. Now if I had the ego of either Prof. Gates or President Obama I might actually believe it myself, but the awful truth is that the most traffic I've had in months was the 2,000 heavily armed Big Fat Lesbians that showed up here one day last week wanting to kick my sorry ass for making fun of Melissa McEwan. Without them, DtP is cruising along at around 500 uniques a day... Hardly the stuff coverups are made of.
Despite that, the idea that I'm trying to hide THE TRUTH from my readers by not posting the tapes here at DtP has a certain birther sort of charm to it: Whereas the birthers are convinced that President Obama has something to hide (i.e., his lack of citizenship) because he won't release his birth certificate, Mark is convinced I have something to hide (i.e., hideous police misconduct against poor Prof. Gates) because I won't post the Cambridge police audio tapes. If nothing else, I have to admit there is a rather appealing symmetry between the two ideas. And besides, what could be more fun for a conservative than sulking around, being conspiratorial and whatnot...
So the question is this: Is Dennis CONCEALING THE TRUTH in a vast, right-wing conspiracy sort of way, or in Mark do we now have the first known instance of a Taper...?
I think the correct term is Tapeworm. But come on Dennis, you know you are colluding with Bush, Cheyney,Rush and Halliburton. The first two have gone you say,OK colluding with Rush Halliburton then,and whoever else is in the demonology of the deranged left on the 29 of July 2009.

As Fester would say, getting defensive aren't you? The simple truth Dennis is 9 out of your last 11 posts have been about Gates/Obama/Crowley. And when pressed on the issue you have nothing. The tapes don't back you up despite your suspicion they'd be the smoking gun that would show Gates is a liar or a raving maniac. Yet you continue with no proof. Like I said you're in fine company with Limbaugh, Beck and Dobbs.
BTW I thought you'd been looking for the kind of attention you finally got from McEwan since you took on Amanda. It's a shame it had to blow up on you like that from a simple misunderstanding. But then that kind of shit happens when you don't do your homework.

As far as McEwan goes, eh, who cares. Yeah, I didn't do my homework but, Christ, she's more godawful than Amanda. You try reading that tripe. There are limits to what a man can put up with, you know. Besides, the Melissa McEwans of the world deserve whatever aggrevation they get... Hideous human beans, they are.
As far as "having something", what is it I'm supposed to have? THE TAPES? I'm not a journalist. This is not a news outlet. I write about Gates/Obama/Crowley because I find it interesting... Which is the ultimate filter for posts here at DtP.
In any event, the tapes were the smoking gun. Gates' first claim was that he had been racially profiled, and that was why (a) the cops were called in the first place, and (b) why he was arrested. The tapes disprove both of those contentions.
You just keep pushing the 'stupid white cop' line, it will bear fruit eventually. Especially on health care.
That reminds me, I thought you said the whole Gates/Crowley thing was beneath you, you being an adult and all. It seems to have you engaged now, doesn't it?

That's what you think the tapes prove? You must have listened to different tapes. There's absolutely nothing on the first tape to prove anything about the old lady's motivation to have her friend call the cops. The woman who made the call says all she saw was one of the men use his shoulder to push in the door. The second tape contains so little information it's useless to discern what happened let alone anyone's motivation.
Like I said I don't doubt Gates was acting like a jerk. There's also no doubt Crowley busted him for acting like a jerk.
And again reread this legal ruling from the Ninth Circuit Court:
