The White House has put up the transcript of President Obama's town hall meeting at Portsmouth, New Hampshire. You can find it here. Although it is rather long, I suggest you read it carefully, for if nothing else it demonstrates just how far out of his depth the President is. This is not the transcript of a President selling complex and controversial public policy to the citizenry...
This is the transcript of a Presidential Candidate selling himself in a party primary.
Go back and watch the Ohio town hall meeting I put up earlier today. The one where Candidate Obama goes on about special interests and drug companies and health reform. Then re-read the transcript of today's Portsmouth reading. In all respects - tone, depth, and to an extent, content - they are strikingly similar.
That is not a good thing. At least for Barack Obama it isn't.
Barack Obama simply doesn't understand that this sort of forum, using this sort of language, spouting these sort of bland generalities, neither answers the questions nor allays the fears of the middle-of-the-road, non-partisan voters who are now deserting him in droves.
Busy as they've been spinning conspiracy theories and denouncing unbelievers, what progressives, liberals and Democrats - including President Obama - have missed is the essential fact of this matter:
This was a spontaneous uprising.
It took the inside-the-beltway lunkheads of the Republican Party by surprise just as it did the Democrats. You think those morons are "of the people"? Right. Go to YouTube and look at some of the footage of the completely shocked Mitch McConnell and David Boenher from last week... You can see they haven't a fucking clue as to what's going on, nor why it is going on.
If Barack Obama thinks a town hall charm offensive is going to get him the health care he wants, I think he is badly mistaken. All it will do is send the message that he just doesn't get it.
This was a spontaneous uprising.
By a relatively few of the whackjobs who lost the election last year. I like your use of the past tense Dennis. It's appropriate.

Telling whoppers isn't the way to go either, "I have never said I was a single payer supporter..."

You just keep telling yourself that, Mark.

You just keep telling yourself Obama's gonna kill grannie, steal money out of your checking account, and all that other ridiculous stuff Dennis. Sucker.

State health care always comes round to "Kill Granny",it is simply a matter of economics.

How come you're not dead then granny? You pretty much epitomize useless flesh.

spontaneously organized by astroturf lobby orgs, yesh...

Dennis you are spot on.
Some of the R's still don't get it. Others get it, but aren't willing to capitalize on it because they also recognize that they might be able to use it, but they cannot control it. And what they cannot control they don't want to get involved in.
I'm more and more convinced that there are many, ostensibly 'on the right,' who want this backlash to die lest it sweep away all of their phoney-baloney jobs.

Short form post:
He's a salesman who has absolutely no concept of closing.
None. The other people - the Emmanuels, Axelrods, Ayers... they have always done the heavy lifting. And they steer. Always have, always will. The Won knows this
He's been the Token at every level of his professional career. He knows this - the vicious narcissism isn't borne of arrogance, it is instead a defense mechanism.
The above observations are the basis of my theory that Obama is intent on destroying the Constitution he was elected to serve. Too hollow to really amount to anything as a real executive, he can still live out the plot of the campus commie revolutionary and be the one to bring down the system.
Sad times. Embarassing, even. There will be blood.
And he thinks that things are predestined to go his way. Every time.

So is that a threat TmjUtah?

Flip a coin, Mark.
You can put me in the White House enemies' data base, mark. That's ANDREW R. JONES in OREM, UTAH. They should already have me profiled as a threat - white male, non-union skilled trade, vet with honorable service, SOC background and even one of those silly clearance things that still generates an extra question or two if I have to consent to a background check lo these... holy shit, thirty years out now...
Or just call the Secret Service. That way is quicker. They will follow up, too.
Then, when they come calling, I'll explain that the last stages of a constitutional republic are typically marked by a wholly unrepresentative and disconnected political class that commits statist overreach that results in economic collapse and widespread civil unrest... which won't be news to those guys, since even a junior agent is will be at least a Master's candidate JD or have prior law enforcement credentials or both. Elect a communist and things go south. That the First Secretary in fact straps on size forty eight loafers before meeting up with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi is just icing on the cake.
They understand cause and effect a lot better than their principals. Trust me on this. They live in an action and consequence world. Politicians live inside news and election cycles. One is real, but don't try to tell the bosses that.
People bleed when money isn't there any more, mark. Or when it's no good. It's a race to see which situation will pertain first.
Yes, there will be blood.
I don't believe there's any threat on my part in any portion of the above comment, nor in the one before it.
Not a threat guy, to be honest. YMMV.

Took ya awhile didn't it? Glad you made your position clear. Even though you're clearly deranged Tim you don't sound like a threat to anyone.
