"We are God's partners in matters of life and death," Obama said, according to [Rabbi Jack] Moline (paging Sarah Palin...), quoting from the Rosh Hashanah prayer that says that in the holiday period, it is decided "who shall live and who shall die."

To tell you the truth, just the idea of Barack Obama speaking in terms of morality and ethics makes me want to hurl. But the idea of him saying something akin to what crazed fundie nutjob George W. Bush might say, and then getting a pass from his little leftist friends? Not so surprising.

Remember: When Republicans to it, it's fundie intolerance. When Democrats do it, it's the expression of an unassailable moral truth.
