Sam Stein over at Huffington Post chronicles the Obama Administration's fearlessness in dealing with the Obama-PhRMA sellout:
In the latest in a series of conflicting statements, White House officials on Monday insisted that they never entered into a deal with pharmaceutical companies whereby they agreed not to allow the government to negotiate lower drug prices for Medicare.
In a briefing with mostly new media reporters, three senior administration officials who spoke on condition of anonymity pushed back against reports that the White House had made such a pledge in return for $80 billion in promised cost savings over ten years.
Wow. Sending out three senior administration officials who will only speak on condition of anonymity.
What balls!
What transparency!
And it gets better:
On Monday, White House aides called early reports "confused" and "confusing." They acknowledged that they had struck a deal with the pharmaceutical industry on one front, but not the one reported.
They had "struck a deal with the pharmaceutical industry", just not the one reported? Then just what fucking deal was struck?
I mean, that is one motherfucker of a denial, there. I don't know about you, but I feel good all under.
You're gonna have to get the hang of how this dynamic on our side works. Obama aides leak something mealy mouthed. Five million people write him and say are you guys nuts? Don't sell us out for a measly $80 billion over 10 years! Then nervous that it's falling apart they start coming out in droves again to support reform. Thanks Dennis, you've done your part.

Mark-
Thanks for the laugh. You're sounding exceptionally desperate at the moment, but you do get points for creativity.

I sound desperate? I'm not the one who just wrote a half dozen blog posts that are now, as Nixon would have put it, no longer operable.

I'm interested in Dennis' ideas.
How do we kill that damned rabbit?

Given that the Obama Administration doesn't have a soul to actually go on record denying the PhRMA sellout, and given that the Obama Administration hasn't told anyone what the "actual deal" with PhRMA is, I'm pretty sure what I've posted is still operable.
And it will continue to be, because what nobody's denying is that Obama is still getting his $150 million in lobbying money from PhRMA.

"I sound desperate?"
Never. Especially now.

So it's resolved?
G.W.Bush for V.P., and we'll put Cheney in charge in name this time?
Raisin your hands, cornflakes!

$150 million payoff now to cover $80 billion? Not a bad tradeoff. Do you think I could get a tradeoff on my taxes if I send the Obama Campaign a check for a hundred bucks?

Mark - I thought the gnomes had a good thing going with -
Phase 1: Collect Underpants
Phase 2: ?
Phase 3: Profit
but that's nothing on your 'dynamic' -
Phase 1: Sell Out
Phase 2: Mealy mouthed denial
Phase 3: ?
Phase 4: GENUINE REFORM

"$150 million payoff now to cover $80 billion?"
Not a bad return on other peoples money. Perhaps one for RICO?

"$150 million payoff now to cover $80 billion?"
That sure beats Hillary's cattle futures 'earnings'.
