Politico has an article out today that should set the lefties ta screamin'. And if it's true, well, then it's like having Christmas in September:
Aides to President Barack Obama are putting the final touches on a new strategy to help Democrats recover from a brutal August recess by specifying what Obama wants to see in a compromise health care deal and directly confronting other trouble spots, West Wing officials tell POLITICO.
Obama is considering detailing his health-care demands in a major speech as soon as next week, when Congress returns from the August recess. And although House leaders have said their members will demand the inclusion of a public insurance option, Obama has no plans to insist on it himself, the officials said.
If this is accurate, then the public option is dead. If Barack Obama won't give Congressional Democrats cover to vote for it, then a whole shitload of them won't. A whole shitload of them. Even better, however, is this:
On health care, Obama’s willingness to forgo the public option is sure to anger his party’s liberal base. But some administration officials welcome a showdown with liberal lawmakers if they argue they would rather have no health care law than an incremental one. The confrontation would allow Obama to show he is willing to stare down his own party to get things done.
If true, delicious.
Could it be true? Well, if nothing else, Barack Obama has been remarkably consistent when it comes to throwing folks under the bus: First it was Grandma, then Rev. Wright, then the LGBT community, then Hillary Clinton and now Leon Panetta. Why not the single payer/public option crowd?
And the best part? That would be watching Democrats, liberals and progressives rationalize it all away...
What's up Dennis? Nobody has called you a f*cktard in almost 24 hours. Losing your touch?

The best part is already starting.....:
Responding to poll numbers, a senior White House official told ABC News, "If we only did what was popular in polls, the banks would have failed, there would be no domestic automakers, and we'd pull all our troops out of Afghanistan tomorrow. But none of those decisions would be in the economic or national security interests of the country."
The Dhimmicrats are all about polls. The amazing thing is that it took them so long to realize that The Won™ and his health care "reform" are tanking.

The Democrats are like the British Labour party, forever fighting the student revolution. Why tie themselves down to the minutiae of governance when there are elections to be won?

Obama is going to be decisive? Yeah, right. He's going to vote "present" again.
Speaking of which why would anyone vote present? That's like having a favorite food you just can't bear to bring yourself to eat.

Donnie-
Elliott's having his diaper changed...

I think the franchise on "f*cktard" is up for renewal. Elliott will be negotiating for an increase in his allowance.
Dennis. Why not install a Paypal operated fucktard facility?

I put as much thought into my comments as the f*cktard does into his posts. I have the advantage of being brief.

I have the advantage of being brief.
That's what comes from having a limited vocabulary.
Posted by: JeffS | September 02, 2009 at 04:34 PM
Limited everything.

Watching democrats rationalize away Brack's founderings has become my new favorite spectator sport. The meme that is building is that his abject failure to provide guidance or leadership until now was in fact a cunning plan, so cunning that if you put a tail on it you could call it a weasel. What remains to be seen, of course, is how much guidance he's actually going to provide. I'm setting the over-under at "damn little", and taking the under.

Elliott-
As usual, you flatter yourself.

c'mom Ellie,
if you want to get yourself banned, you'll have to work harder at it.
Start by posting long, rambling re-posts of other's materials...
...make sure that you're posting off-topic based on Dear Leader's meme of the week
...don't forget that ONLY Republicans are corrupt, and that Democrats are pure by nature
...remember that any one that strays from the Democratic party line is a lying, corrupt Republican
...also that any fact that inconveniences your worldview is a foul Republican lie
...and finally, fucktard is spelled with a "u", not an "*"

Speaking of so what, Elliott's dropped in.
Straight from Mommy's changing table.

ellie is a typical pinko, Dennis...he'll call you fucktard until you ban him, then whine that you don't tolerate free speech on your site.
Jesus, ellie mae, at least have the balls to spell out "fucktard" correctly...
or does mommy's computer censor dirty words? Maybe it's time to move out of the basement, ne?
Posted by: just passin by | September 03, 2009 at 08:16 PM
Yeah, I know. He's been dying to get banned ever since he first arrived. He claims I've banned from here once already, but I don't remember it if I did.
Which probably tells you all you need to know about Elliott.
What's ever funnier is that his own site, which I visited once long ago, was shit. I mentioned it to him and now he doesn't give a link to it with his name.
Posted by: Dennis the Peasant | September 03, 2009 at 08:23 PM
Talking of "delicious". At least Elliott isn't of the finger eating left.
