Well, Van Jones is toast, so my day is made.
What's interesting about the whole affair - to me at least - is that Barack Obama wouldn't lift a finger to protect or defend his Green Jobs Czar:
The White House had stayed relatively quiet about Jones as the controversy developed, leading to speculation that he was on the way out. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs on Friday said only that he "continues to work in the administration."
Asked about the resignation on ABC's "This Week" Sunday, Gibbs would not say whether President Obama ultimately urged him to leave.
"The president and the CEQ accepted his resignation because Van Jones, as he says in his statement, understood that he was going to get in the way of the president and ultimately this country moving forward on something as important as creating jobs in a clean energy economy," Gibbs said, adding that Obama does not endorse Jones' statements and associations.
"He doesn't, but he thanks him for his service to the country," Gibbs said.
White House adviser David Axelrod said Obama did not order Jones out of the administration, but commended him for the decision to leave. Axelrod said Jones showed his "commitment" to his cause by removing himself "as an issue."
"The political environment is rough, so these things get magnified," he said on NBC's "Meet the Press."
You know, it's getting to the point where Obama supporters are going to have to stand in line to get fucked over by Dear Leader. One thing is sure: Obama's gonna need a bigger bus.
The fundamental flaw in the Obama administration,is that all it has is Obama and his image.Since Obama is tanking, all that can be done is sacrifice some scapegoats.
This is getting to be like the maiden voyage of the Titanic.

I hadn't noticed that. This czar should have been extremely carefully chosen by O because it was to champion one of O's major platform planks: green jobs.
Which is it, Mr. President? For czar of one of the post personally important positions in your administrations you either thought a commie truther was okay or you filled it according to whoever sent in the most cereal box tops. Which is it, sir? And as a follow up, if your admistration is not a joke, would you please explain all the laughter.

This has to make the other czars more than a trifle twitchy. Obama puts Number Won first, last, and always.
Perhaps even Michelle is looking over her shoulder these days....

Private thoughts in DC this morning:
Czar 11: "Hmm. Maybe the portraits of Mao, Stalin and Che in my office are a bit...."
Czar 7: "Gosh. I wonder if my membership in NAMBLA might also be considered kind of..."

For an Administration that is supposedly New Media savvy, they don't seem to grasp yet that idiocies like appointing this grifting maggot Jones don't stay under the radar just because Little Pinch Sulzberger and Charflie Gibson say they'll go along with the gag.

"Always messin' wit' da BLACK man..."
You watch, he'll be a martyr by Tuesday. The race card is all Bambi has left. That's why he didn't have the gumption to fire this creep, the Black Caucus types and the Loony Left would go after him.

He's a martyr already, mojo. Heck, he was probably handed his Official Certificate Of Martyrdom before he handed in his resignation.

I thought he'd get by with a Greyhound modified for the Monster Truck Show circuit, but it's looking more like an AIRbus is going to be the only thing big enough to cover the bodies in this guy's wake.

Jones didn't run swizzle, he was pushed by his comrades.

Wtf do we need to allocate 125M/year to train 35,000 people to do green jobs? What a bunch of make-work activist nonsense.

A 'Green Jobs' Pioneer - Globally & Nationally
In 2005, Van produced the "social equity track" for the United Nations' World Environment Day 2005 summit, which was themed "Green Cities: Plan for the Planet." ... The adoption of these accords marked the beginning of the global movement for "green jobs."
In 2007, Van helped the City of Oakland pass a "Green Jobs Corps" proposal. The City allocated funds to train Oakland residents in eco-friendly "green-collar jobs."
At the national level, Van worked successfully in 2007 with U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), U.S. Rep. Hilda Solis (D-CA), U.S. Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.) to pass the Green Jobs Act of 2007. The path-breaking, historic legislation authorized $125 million in funding to train 35,000 people a year in "green-collar jobs."
In 2008, Green for All partnered with Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection to launch the Green For All Academy. The Academy trains U.S. grassroots leaders to effectively advocate for an inclusive, green economy.
Also starting in 2008, Van Jones began serving on the Committee to Engage African Americans in Climate Change, sponsored by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.
On September 27, 2008, Green For All worked with national partners to produce "Green Jobs Now" -- the first-ever "national day of action" calling for green-collar jobs in the United States. More than 600 communities in all 50 states participated, with more than 50,000 signing a petition that called for federal government action to spur green jobs.
In 2009, Van Jones was appointed to the White House Council on Environmental Quality as special advisor for green jobs, enterprise and innovation.

Amazing that Jones,a lawyer knows sweet FA about green technology or having a proper day job.

I can't believe he resigned. No body is perfect but you have to have a real tough skin to be in politics.
