Chuckie LaDouche puffs out his chest and gets all self-righteous on us:
In a bizarre twist, authorities in Kentucky have announced that census worker Bill Sparkman committed suicide and staged it to look like murder, possibly so that his family could collect on two life insurance policies.
.....
Since this news came out, I’ve received several angry emails demanding that I apologize for saying Sparkman had been murdered by a right wing extremist.
The problem is, I never wrote anything like that.
Wow. Really, Chuckie?
For the record, this was my post when the story broke, and I don’t apologize for a single word:
There’s not enough information yet to say for sure what was behind this killing, so let’s not jump to conclusions. But the description of the circumstances and the timing (around the time of the Washington DC tea party) raises a strong suspicion that anti-government sentiment may have been the motivation.
You know, you really do have to be a weapons-grade cock end to write a post that (a) denies an easily verifiable fact and then (b) provides the proof that contradicts your own denial. It seems clear that Charles Johnson has become Dan Rather: He, like Rather, can no longer sort out his own lies. Pathetic.
Please.
Keep the dirt on CJ down to one a week.
He's doing such a job on himself that no one else had to do it.
I'm sure he'll be getting some $$$ from the MSM in the future to tell us all how he saw the light one day and found inner peace in the mainstream.

Charles has reverted back to liberalism; wherein what you said yesterday has no relevance to what you say today.

Pandag again beats all comers for rank stupidity -
Mandy blames the wingnuts - who created an 'atmosphere of fear' which made Sparkman believe that he could get away with a 'fraud suicide' as Mandy puts it -
http://pandagon.net/index.php/site/comments/bill_sparkmans_death_ruled_a_suicide/
Can't wait for Pandag village idiot Jesse 'the mind' Taylor to post a non-retraction - "As I originally said "The murder was unconnected to the teabaggers" -
http://pandagon.net/index.php/site/comments/this_seems_unconnected_to_recent_political_events/
Thought those guys might have learnt a lesson to stop making predictions after Duke.
Stupid, partisan and dishonest.
Sorry to threadjack but no Panda posts makes Simon sad.

Well, to be fair, as Simon says, Charles is hardly the only one to have made that conclusion at first. Josh Marshall at TPM applied much of his, um, intellectual firepower to the same effect. And, to be honest, knowing that region quite well, it probably wouldn't have surprised me if they were right. But, yes, as Simon also says, it's not nice to jump to conclusions. I'd forgotten about Duke lacrosse; I just tried to remember innocent until proven guilty and all that.

Or to put it another way - Chuck is a kook, but no-one is as bug eyed, batshit crazy as Mandy and her goons.
You have to read those links to get the full weight of Mandy's madness - IF YOU DARE.
I don't know anything about the area CG, but from what I read it looked like perhaps homebrew drug guys. I never would have thought suicide, but there you go.

Dennis, Dennis, Dennis... They're NOT lies if you repeat them VERY LOUDLY and OFTEN in front of a sycophantic audience...

Simon, drugs would have been a very good guess, better than nearly any others made.

Charles debunked the drug angle almost immediately, via the comment section to the original post. So, I give him credit for that much.
Charles showed epic douchiness by whining about how "careful" his "wording" was (c.f. the same comments). Apparently we should thank him for being a SKILLED weasel.
