Re: invading Sarah, you stole my line. I've often thought that ASS (Andrew "Sully" Sullivan) is so unstable that he might well decide the gay thing is passe and focus his attentions on the fairer sex. What an awful thought. Keeping ASS focused on man-love is far more humane.

I think what annoys Sully about that article is its use of hysterical overreach - ie comparing settlers to Rosa Parks and limits to settlement to segregation.

He has probably never seen the right use this type of argument before, and had thought it was reserved for his side, for example when you compare refusal to recognise gay marriage as apartheid, or say Ronald Reagan murdered gays in the AIDS epidemic, or call Palin a fascist.

Andy is throwing a hissy fit - he thought the left had copyright on this type of bullshit, like he has on the phrase 'milky loads'.

I read the Haaretz piece. It's rather stupid. Most Israelis (at least English-speaking ones) that I've dealt with are more intelligent than that. But it doesn't excuse what General ASS said.

PS I've looked around for a source for checkpoint closures but couldn't find one. I did find this, though, in an account of a shooting of a settler on the WB:
