Andrew Sullivan reminds us that sometimes everything isn't America's fault. Sometimes everything is the Jooos' fault:
The Netanyahu government has all but declared war on the Obama administration and then openly disses a vital ally, Turkey. The slow cultural shifts in Israel - toward ever more arrogance, more fundamentalism, more Russian immigrant racism, contempt for the Muslim world, military adventurism, and the daily grinding of the Palestinians on the West Bank and pulverization and inhumane blockade of the people of Gaza ... well maybe some others can explain it.
Wow. That's some purple prose Andy's got going there. This must be serious...
And it is. We've got your...
Arrogance! Fundamentalism! Racism! Contempt! Aventurism! Grinding! Pulverization!
Wow, again.
Israel is sounding more like a red state every day. No wonder Andrew's got the flutters: We could have a second Texas on our hands!
Andrew misses the good old days - when Israel was more like Massachusetts - and he expresses his yearning in the sort of fractured prose that would do justice to Amanda Marcotte:
All I can say is: it saddens me, as a longtime lover of the Jewish state.
I'm sure it does, Andrew, I'm sure it does. And by the way, the explanation you are looking for isn't as elusive as you might think:
God didn't put Israel on the Earth to do your will.
Sorry, but sometimes it isn't about what you want.
"Arrogance! Fundamentalism! Racism! Contempt! Aventurism! Grinding! Pulverization!" and 'dissing', don't forget the 'dissing of Turkey'. I told you this guy was an intellectual.
I also like the 'Russian immigrant racism'. This could be racism of Russian immigrants against the Palis, but also the obligatory racism of the Joos against the Russian immigrants - which is a given. It works either way.
So Andy is a lover of the Jews as well as the Catholic Church and conservatism.
I'd hate for Andy to love me long time - and not just because of the whole AIDS thing.

A real sick fucker that Sullivan has become.

I don't pay that much attention to the Middle East, and I am happier that way. Same goes for Sully. But I decided to do some googling about this incident he is all aflutter over.
An Israeli diplomat did something undiplomatic:
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2010/01/14/world/AP-EU-Turkey-Israel.html?_r=1
He shouldn't have done that. Diplomats should be....diplomatic. They are paid to lie, unlike you and me.
But if you read the article, the Israeli complaint (if not the way it was expressed) was justified. The immediate complaint was about a television show that showed Israeli soldiers killing children and old folks indiscriminately. Also:
"However, Jewish groups have reported hundreds of anti-Semitic articles in the Turkish press in recent months."
No mention of that in Sully's screed.
Typical.
The backdrop of this is quite serious, which involves a real threat (hence ignored by Sully): the growing Islamization and radicalization of Turkey. See:
http://rubinreports.blogspot.com/
(Personal digression: My own feeling as an American Jew is that this is whatcha call karma. We've been sucking Turkish tushy for quite some time because of Israel's strategic alliance with Turkey and keeping our mouths shut about the Armenian genocide. Wrong wrong wrong.)
Anyway about Sully, he gets the entire thing upside down as usual. The Israeli diplomat acted foolishly, but the underlying causes of this particular tempest in a teapot he ignores.

Barry made a campaign promise to recognise the Aremnian genocide (lot of rich Armenians got in Pelosi's ear).
Didn't happen.

How many promises did this guy break? It's almost funny.
"How many people remember the Armenians?" asked Hitler. It's a scandal all around.
