So sayeth Democratic dickweed Anthony Weiner:
"You gotta love these Republicans," Weiner said. "I mean, you guys have chutzpah. The Republican Party is a wholly owned subsidiary of insurance companies."
Question: Where the fuck was Anthony fucking Weiner when Barack Obama, the White House and the Democratic Party was peddling their asses to Billy Tauzin and PhRMA for $150 million? I don't remember him offering any objections to being a wholly owned subsidiary of pharmaceutical companies. Did Anthony fucking Weiner complain about this situation to his president and party leadership? Or did he just look the other way? Like a good little boy.
Question: What was Anthony fucking Weiner's fucking vote on the last attempt to legalize drug reimportation? Did he vote against the wishes of his president and party leadership to allow citizens the right to buy cheaper drugs from outside the U.S.? Or did he vote with his president and party leadership to protect pharmaceutical industry profits? Like a good little boy.
Evidently Anthony fucking Weiner is what passes for a badass in progressive circles these day. Scares me, I can tell you that.
You know, there's enough hypocrisy around for everyone, Anthony fucking Weiner, so stop grandstanding. You're out their peddling your ass to the highest bidder, just like all the rest. You're not enraged about the immorality of the situation, you're enraged because you're losing.
Note: Evidently this is the sort of stuff that excites the progressive pinheads these days. You know, in lieu of either content or achievement.
I was wondering if anybody was going to note that.

Reimportation generally means from Canada. The Canadian government negotiates low prices. The additional profit for pharma companies selling there is small - they accept this because getting a small profit on what they ship there is more money than getting zero profit after being prohibited from shipping by the Canadians. The Canadians are riding on our backs, and have virtually no pharma industry of their own. If the industry had to sell their product everywhere at Canadian prices, many drugs on the market now would never have been profitable. The effect of reimporting wouyld be equivalent to extending Candadian price controls to the United States.
If reimportation were allowed, the pharma companies would stop shipping to Canada. If forced to ship to Canada, they would stop much of their drug development - what would be the point?
