An infallible method of conciliating a tiger is to allow oneself to be devoured. - Konrad Adenauer
Is there one issue Barack Obama will not equivocate upon? After spending 13 months tarring Wall Street and its denizens as villains, blackguards and scoundrels, what does Obama have to say when the CEOs of JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs are handed multi-million dollar bonuses? "Good for you":
President Barack Obama said he doesn’t “begrudge” the $17 million bonus awarded to JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon or the $9 million issued to Goldman Sachs Group Inc. CEO Lloyd Blankfein, noting that some athletes take home more pay.
The president, speaking in an interview, said in response to a question that while $17 million is “an extraordinary amount of money” for Main Street, “there are some baseball players who are making more than that and don’t get to the World Series either, so I’m shocked by that as well.”
Yeah, Obama sounds shocked, doesn't he?
Honestly, though, I'm not surprised at this. As many of you know, last week it was reported that Wall Street wasn't responding to Democratic fund raising efforts with much enthusiasm. Evidently the Democratic Party's brain trust was unprepared for Wall Street bankers responding to 13 months of public vilification by keeping their checkbooks closed. Go figure. No doubt some DNC drone rushed over to the White House and informed some Administration drone that the money has stopped flowing. Enter, on cue, the Obama walk-back.
The most amateurish presidency - and president - of our age.
Not that I don't agree with you about the essential idiocy of this comment, but the stories upon which the premise of Wall Street not donating to Dems was based were flawed.

If the gordon geckkos were donating, Obie would have gone right on condemning them. He needs something from them desperately so he crawled, especially since Goldman Sachs has been a major beneficiary of his administration...

He (Obama) can be bought. But we knew that already. But like most creatures that can be bought, it's only a temporary rental.

C'mon, Lefty. Say something stupid. We're all waiting for it. Better yet, post a link.

Every time the liberals get caught in a lie or a hypocrisy, they start crying about the "stupidity" of the conservatives that mock them. I'm sorry we're too "stupid" to understand the nuances and complexities of your lies and bullshit, but feel free to surf somewhere else.
How's President Hussein's "hope and change" working for you anyway?

I beg to differ, old boy.
Young Master Obama is an excellent chap to go tiger shooting with... as long as you don't mind being chained to the bait stake...

I'm not sure who is right. The WSJ claims that Obama and the democrats haven't been getting Wall Street's love. Dday's link above says "au contraire" Obama and the democrats and the republicans are all getting their love from Wall Street.
Remind me again how new banking regulations, written by the people who are direct campaign fund beneficiaries from the industries to be regulated, are supposed to be a boon to the voters?

"it's putting my basic humanity to the test."
How? Planning on killing us? Ah, the urge to supress rather than engage always sits uncomfortably close to the surface for you libs, doesn't it? No wonder socialism is your preferred m.o. -- it's easier to suppress dissent.
You know, every time Obama does something stupid (not a rare occurrence), it's always someone else's fault. He needs a sign on his desk that says "The Buck Passes Here."

"it's putting my basic humanity to the test."
Scratch a Lefty, find a murderous fuckwit.
Some you have to scratch harder than others, but it's always there, lurking beneath the surface.

Simon, I stand corrected.

After seeing Lefty's pissweak Adenauer quote I googled up a list of Adenauer quotes in the hope of coming up with a good retort. The best I could find was "All parts of the human body get tired eventually - except the tongue." - which probably has some relevance to Lefty but is pretty poor nonetheless.
For my money this Adenauer couldn't come up with a quote to save his life (including the one Dennis put in his post which I assume he only used because it was tiger related)- and is the anti-Winston Churchill.

They should be fined or not allowed to be paid until everything is fixed.
