Bart Stupak appears, right on cue:
I was pleased to see that President Obama’s health care proposal did not include several of the sweetheart deals provided to select states in the Senate bill. Unfortunately, the President's proposal encompasses the Senate language allowing public funding of abortion. The Senate language is a significant departure from current law and is unacceptable. While the President has laid out a health care proposal that brings us closer to resolving our differences, there is still work to be done before Congress can pass comprehensive health care reform.
If the Senate language incorporated into Obamacare 2.0 is unacceptable, then it's hard to see how said health care reform proposal brings anyone closer to "resolving our differences". It was a deal breaker for Stupak the first time around, and there is no reason to believe that's changed.
Again, what was Obama thinking? Did he really think he could slip that one by anti-abortion Democrats? This just gets stranger by the minute.
Dennis, you miss the most important part of this bill, that wull unite and inspire this downtrodden nation. It has Obama's name on it.

You would think they would just drop the whole abortion clause out of any federal health care reform bill. It's a non-starter for many voters. Hell, most of it is covered under existing state laws anyway.
It is strange, why would he put in things into his proposal for a bill that were major policy fights in his own party? I suppose he's thinking that when he excoriates the republicans on Thursday, his new and improved proposal will magically turn his owm party members around. I'm honestly starting to think Obama has a tenuous grasp on political reality.

About the time that the New York Times writes off this administration, The Won's minions will strike back with 'we can't govern a nation of racists'.
I see Holder reading the press release. If he's got time left after working with his staff to find ways to sabotage any chance of prosecuting any of their former clients for terrorism...

And they called G.W. Bush stubborn and incurious.

I don't think Obama actually reads this crap. Some 20 something policy wonk is churning this stuff out, and nobody is actually doing any edits or reviews.
I'm thinking that Obama isn't going to have any minions pretty soon.
My model for saying this is the Dinkins' administration in New York city. His administration ended up being so inept that the city has only elected Republicans as mayor since. (yeah yeah, everybody says Bloomberg is a RINO, but labels still matter). 16 years of Republican mayors. Obama may do the same for the Presidency. Nice legacy.

Makes you wonder if Obama might not be a Republican agent.
Say, I wonder how much Karl Rove is paying him? I want in on some of that action. Times are tough right about now.
