Evidently you don't even have to be attending CPAC to shed 40 or so points of I.Q. This week's big ol' whack of conservative stupidity comes from some dimwit named Rob who is simply covering CPAC:
I arrived in Washington DC today to cover CPAC and since I was in town, and since CPAC doesn’t really get rolling until tomorrow, I tagged along with some Scott Hennen Show listeners on an extensive tour of the White House as part of the Common Sense Travel Club. One of the stops on the tour (which was wonderful by the way) was the White House library.
Now, according out the person who guided our tour, the library is stock with books picked out by the First Lady, Michelle Obama. Being a bit of a bibliophile, I started to peruse some of the books on the shelves…and lookie, lookie what I found (click for a larger view)...
And of course, when you actually click for a larger view, what you get is this message:

*Sigh* If nothing else, this episode serves as a useful reminder that no matter how stupid, incompetent and clueless the Democrats are, the social conservatives of the Republican Party are still nipping at their heels in all three departments. What this particular dimwit seems mortified by is the fact that Michelle Obama owns books such as the following:
- The Populist Revolt by John D. Hicks, and
- The Populist Movement by Lawrence Goodwyn, and
- The American Socialist Movement by Ira Kipnis, and
- The Socialist Party of America by David A. Shannon, and
- The Social Basis of American Communism by Nathan Glazer
Dimwit Rob goes on to state, ever so slyly:
By itself, this wouldn’t be that big of a deal. But in the context of Anita Dunn saying Chairman Mao is her favorite political philosopher? In the context of the Mao ornament on the White House Christmas tree?
In the context of Obama’s economic policies?
Well, I’ll let you make your own call.
Well, Rob, my call is that you're a moron. Of course, what Rob wants us all to do is connect the dots (*wink, wink, nudge, nudge*) and understand that Michelle Obama is a socialist... just like her husband! Despite his claims to being a bibliophile, Dimwit Rob seems unaware that more than one of Michelle's treasure trove of sinister literature have served, at various times, as standard reference works on their subject. Had Dimwit Rob ever touched The Populist Revolt, for example, he'd know that. Remember, Rob: Everything looks sinister when you're too stupid to understand what you're taking in.
Here are some of the books in my library:
- The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels,
- Mein Kampf by Adolph Hitler,
- A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn,
- Manufacturing Consent by Noam Chomsky,
- A General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money by John M. Keynes,
- It's A Jungle Out There, by Amanda Marcotte and
- Blacklisting Myself by Roger L. Simon
Owning these books do not make me either a Commie, a Nazi, a dead Suburban Marxist, a Stalinist, a bisexual economist, a dimwitted femnist or a shyster pseudo-journalist... Anymore than owning The Autobiography of Malcolm X by Alex Haley makes me a negro.
Let's keep your eye on the ball here, Dimwit Rob. The idea is to remind everyone that Barack Obama is a well-meaning but ineffectual fathead whose policy agenda is out of step with what the citizenry wants, and not that CPAC conservatives and their followers are delusional, paranoid morons who shouldn't be trusted with a twice-burned match.
"paranoid morons who shouldn't be trusted with a twice-burned match."
I'm going to record this in my 'Big Book of Insults'. You are inspired, Dennis.

I'm in a quandry. I've got some original manuscripts written by some family members which eventually were co-opted into the Minnesota Farmer Labor Party platform. Need I be concerned with the Jack Booted Thugs of Stupidity?
Damn Red Finns in the family tree. I wonder if this precludes my getting the new Malkin Real Conservative decoder ring.

Actually owning 'It's A Jungle Out There' would make you a racist.
Hate crime !

"Any more than owning The Autobiography of Malcolm X by Alex Haley makes me a negro."
Well, at least any more of a negro than you already are.
Posted by: David | February 18, 2010 at 07:38 PM
Simon-
I forgot about that! That would make me a racist...
David-
A racist negro?

I would be curious to know if she had chosen any books by conservative or libertarian authors.
Posted by: A Balrog of Morgoth | February 18, 2010 at 08:47 PM
Didn't your dog chew up your copy of "Its a Jungle Out There"? Don't know if I'd ever admit to owning that book even if was just to make a point.
Posted by: jcw | February 18, 2010 at 08:55 PM
I still have it. It's heavily damaged, but it's here.
Posted by: Dennis the Peasant | February 18, 2010 at 09:03 PM
What?
No "Turner Diaries"?
No "Iron Dream"?
No "Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion"?
No Ayn Rand?
No Julius Streicher?
Dammit, Dennis, I thought you were well read...

"A racist negro?"
We all know there's no such thing.
Posted by: David | February 18, 2010 at 09:42 PM
We need conservative bobbleheads so we don't get too high and mighty in dealing with our friends and neighbors, the liberal bobbleheads.
I haven't read a single book that you listed from your library, Dennis. Other then the Keynes book, I figger I already know what these books say
...and I bet the Keynes was borrrring.
btw, thanks for recommending "The History of the American People"; I enjoyed it.

I'm more disturbed that Michelle's hiding Wealth of Nations completely behind Metamorphosis.

Let's make that delusional, paranoid morons who shouldn't be trusted with a twice-burned match or a pilot's license. How appropriate that here we are exactly 9 years after 9/11 (using Dennis's math) and a deranged nut crashed a plane into a building to protest the policies of the US government. What's next fellas? Planting IEDs under roads repaved with stimulus money?
Posted by: Lefty | February 18, 2010 at 10:51 PM
O super-genius Lefty: that deranged nut was protesting those policies from the anarchist Left. I bet you his library was full of Chomsky and Zinn.
Posted by: Zimriel | February 18, 2010 at 10:55 PM
My library has a Qur'an and several books of hadith and usul al-fiqh. I must be a Sunni imam. No, wait - I've got a Mishnah so I must be a Jew. Latin Vulgate? Oh forget it.

A Bush hater angry about the Democrat's utter inability to reform the health care system ends his final statement with the following:
"The communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed.
Joe Stack (1956-2010)
02/18/2010"
and you somehow blame the Republicans?!?
Lefty, you are a fucking dolt.

FOADS, Lefty.

Lefty, now that we're done with you, I got some laundry for you to wash. And I hear that Randy wants a sandwich.
Posted by: Zimriel | February 18, 2010 at 11:13 PM
Not if that little turd is preparing them, I don't. Leftwingnuts have diseases that full hazmat suits won't contain, much less food prep gloves.
I'll make my own sandwich, thanks.

Here's the delusional, paranoid moron's "manifesto", Lefty.
After reading it, I'm at a loss to see exactly how that tragedy relates to this post, Lefty. If you mean that all delusional, paranoid morons are delusional, paranoid morons, I'm in complete agreement. Or that dimwits are dimwits, I'm with you.
But if you're implying that some slob who dorks up a link and draws a stupid conclusion from irrelevant data is on the same level as Joe Stack crashing an aircraft into an office building (and trying to murder his family as well), that's quite a reach indeed.
In fact, it's downright stupid on your part. More stupid than Dimwit Rob, thereby proving Dennis' point that the Democrats have the lion's share of the market for stupidity, incompetence, and cluelessness.

who's the moron who thinks being a bibliophile makes one a religious (i.e social) conservative ?
from Wiki:
"Bibliophilia is the love of books. Accordingly a bibliophile is an individual who loves books, especially "for qualities of format." A bookworm loves books for their content, or otherwise loves reading. Bibliophilia is generally considered to be an incorrect usage; but some would merely call it a recent one. The practice of loving or collecting books is dubbed bibliophilism, and the adjective form of the term is bibliophilic. Also, a bibliophile may be a book collector."
nice conclusion jumping Dennis ...

Let's let Neil Cavuto and Scott Brown explain it to you. It's all about dissatisfaction with the government doncha know.

I had to have my bibliophilia treated. Couldn't separate the pages after a while.

It's all about your example being a raging Leftwinger, therefore completely negating whatever pitiful excuse for a point you were trying to make this time, you fucking dolt.
Now fuck off, the adults are talking.

Why aren't you at CPAC Randy?
Posted by: Lefty | February 20, 2010 at 07:25 PM
Because I'm an Independent.
Why aren't you at your local Communist Party USA meeting?
Posted by: Randy Rager | February 20, 2010 at 07:45 PM
An independent what? And does the Communist Party even have meetings? It's not like their Libertarians or something.
Posted by: Lefty | February 21, 2010 at 06:16 PM
My registered political affiliation is "Independent". Do they not have that option in whatever savage backwater you hail from?
Why are you asking me what the Communist Party does? I'm not some treasonous shitbag, how would I know?
